Week 386 Updates (Week0386)

Dear Rasikas,

Welcome back to this week's update. Wishing you all a very happy Pongal and Makarsankranti!

We have a special song, 'Thuyil Ezhuvaai' to celebrate the harvest festival, which is also an occasion of thanksgiving to the Sun God, without which our existence is impossible!

All of us, adults and children alike, feel like sleeping a little more in those early morning hours, happily hitting the snooze buttons in our alarms. What if Sun felt the same way and would not want to go to work?? The song, 'Thuyil Ezhuvaai', is an imagination of trying to get Sun to wake up and motivate Him to go to work :)

The song, set in 'Saranga Tharangini', has been composed and sung by Uma Ram. Happy to also mention that this is the first full song where Uma has also done the music arrangement. Thanks a ton to Balamurali Balu and Vijay Kannan for their motivation and encouragement! Enjoy listening and do share it with your family and friends as well! And if you have nice things to say, we would love to hear it :)

A rough English translation of the song -

Wake up, my dear Sun, please wake up!

It is already dawn, you can no longer sleep!

Your best friend, moon has been on watch the whole night,

You delay him further, when it is your turn, that is not right!

Look, all earthly beings are still sleeping

You need to get to work before their alarms start ringing!

I know you work really hard every single day, without a break!

But that’s why you are so special, now, you need to be awake!

Flowers are eagerly waiting for your arrival, to blossom

All plants, trees and animals are eager to see you come

Without sunshine, how would there be rain?

Without you, there would only be misery and pain!

I know you work really hard every single day, without a break

But that’s why you are so special, now, you need to be awake!

Wake up, my dear Sun, please wake up!

It is already dawn, you can no longer sleep!

As always, keep your quiz answers coming and have a great week ahead!
