Introduction

Dear Rasikas,

We are delighted to welcome you to another edition of Special Quiz coinciding with our ‘Week 350’ milestone!

So, are you ready? This time we thought why not address the area which everyone of our rasikas so eagerly want to understand but dread attempting it because of lack of formal music training. This quiz is built entirely around akarams/swaras sthanas!

What???? Seriously????

Yes, indeed! Already beginning to worry or feeling clueless? Cheer up!! The quiz has been so formatted to cater to rasikas who have no idea of swaras at all! Well. . . . I am sure you are wondering how that could be possible?? This quiz is actually the outcome of a long cherished Uma’s idea to demystify swaras sthanas. Come on, brace yourselves and give it a go! We are sure you will find it interesting. Your comments and feedback is what we are eagerly looking for, so don’t forget to send them in.

The genesis of this quiz and some useful tips have been provided by Uma in Audio clip above, don’t miss it!!

This quiz is in three parts - Section A, B and C (seems like an End-Semester question paper pattern to you? :) The fun begins here!! All the best!!!

Section A (Trial)

This is a ‘Do it Yourself - Trial version’ of what the quiz is all about. Listen to the audio clips and match the graphs with the akaram clips. Try to match them yourself and check if you got it right by checking the answers provided below.

Section B

This is exactly the replica of what you did in the DIY Trial version. There are six audio clips and 6 graphs, you need to match the akaram clips with the graphs. Follow the format provided in the DIY section for sending in your answers.

Section C

This section is slightly more advanced. There are three sets of questions and very set has three questions. You need to match the audio clips with the graphs with in each set.

* Scoring: Every correct answer earns 20 points, making a total of 300 points [20 x 6 Qs (section B) + 20 x 9 Qs (section C) ].
* Bonus: 50 bonus points for getting Section B ALL CORRECT, 50 bonus points for each Set in Section C, ALL CORRECT, making a total bonus points of 200 across Section B and C. If you answer every question correctly, you can earn a maximum of 500 points.
* Note: THE LAST DATE : Friday, 20th May 2016 (Online submission only)(This quiz is over)
