We thank our rasikas for their overwhelming response for our 'Twin Raga Comparison' segment. We have been flooded with numerous rasika requests asking us to take up specific twin raga pairs. Thank you all for writing to us. We will certainly take them up one by one in the forth coming weeks.
This week, as promised earlier, we are dealing with 'Keeravani-Simendra Madhyamam' pair. One of our rasikas wrote to us for taking up Shanmuga priya and Simendra Madhyamam, we are happy to include the same here as well

This week our full song is a 'Rama Navami' special - 'Rama Rama' in the raga Simendra Madhyamam set to 2 kalai adhi talam. This is a composition of Sri Swathi Thirunal. Swathi Thirunal was the Maharaja of Travancore. He was a patron of arts and encouraged both carnatic and hindustani music though he was more a connoisseur of carnatic music. Some of his popular compositions include 'Deva Deva' , 'Kripaya Palaya', 'Padmanabha Pahi' 'Janani Mamava' and so on
