The new raga for this week, is Darbari Kanada, a raga with the potential for very high emotional impact. Darbari Kanada or simply Darbari in Hindustani music, is the raga which initially originated in carnatic music and later got introduced into Hindustani Music by the legendary composer and musician, Tansen. It is often described as the emperor of ragas and the raga of emperors.
The full song for the week is a viruttam on Lord Vinayaka, in the raga Gambheera Nattai. Hope you like it.
