Dear Rasikas,
We are happy to be back with this week's update. As usual, we have the Raga Quiz and the DIY exercises. We have a special full song for Navarathri this week, 'Renuka Devi Samrakshithoham' in raga Kannada Bangala set to Kanda chapu talam. This composition of Muthuswamy Dikshitar is on Goddess Renuka Devi, residing in Vijayapuram, a small village near Thiruvarur. The raga Kannada Bangala is a janyam of Maya Malava Gowlai and very close to Malahari (the raga of the most popular geetham, Shri Gananatha Sindoora Varna'). Hope you will find it enjoyable.
