Hope you all had a great week! We are back with our weekly updates. This week we have a new raga - Ramapriya, a full song Karunanidhye Thaye by Papanasam Sivan and our quizzes as usual.
A word about Ramapriya here. Ramapriya is the 52nd melakartha raga in the 72 melakartha scale of sampoorna ragas. It is known as Ramamanohari in the Dikshitar school. It is the prati madhyama raga of Chakravakam and rasikas may find its feel very much similar to chakravakam or its janya ragas. The lower half of its arohanam-avarohanam has the same swaras as that of pantuvarali and hence one might also get a pantuvarali touch while singing in the lower portions.
