Dear Rasikas,
We are happy to address a new raga, 'Malahari' this week. Rasikas must be aware of the most popular Geetham on Lord Vinayaga, 'Shri Gananatha' which is set to raga Malahari. In fact, Malahari, janyam of Mayamalava Gowlai, is the first janya raga taught to students in Carnatic Music at the Geetham level after they are through with the Sarali and Jantai exercises.
We have already pending rasika requests for comparing 'Malahari-Saveri' pair, that episode would soon follow :)
