This week we have special song for you. One of Uma's students, Viji Ganesh, had composed a song on Kanchi Maha Periyaval and wanted Uma to tune and sing it for Raga Surabhi audience. Maha Periyaval's Jayanthi falls on May 22nd this year and can we ask for a better day to feature this song? :)
As you listen you will notice that Viji's lyrics are indeed special; she has taken a leaf out of Dikshitar's book in employing Srotavaha Yati and Gopucha Yati. Read more in Viji's blog about this composition -
