Uma launched www.ragasurabhi.com on this very same day in 2009. She only had one single minded goal, which was to simplify appreciating carnatic music and she was steadfast in achieving this goal. Rain or shine or when we moved across the world, she was persistent. She worked tirelessly to achieve this goal till her last breathe. True to her thinking of building tiny habits, she built Raga Surabhi step by step and it has reached several of you today. We are sure it will be very gratifying for Uma to see where we are today. She has now handed over the baton to Vijay, Sriram and I to take it forward. Thanks to all of you for your continued support!
We have always been blessed with genuine hearted collaborators. Mithun - Founder Vaishnavi Natyashala suggested we should celebrate Uma's compositions and that we do this event on 30th August 2026. Vaishnavi Natyashala would be showcasing Uma's compositions on this evening at Seva Sadan, Malleshwaram, Bangalore.
During this occasion we are also happy to recognize great artists who have excelled in their respective fields. We would be happy to see our Bangalore rasikas turn out in large numbers to celebrate Uma and these artists who have given their all to help us appreciate art form better.
