We are happy to feature Athira Vijayan, an ardent fan of Uma, she has beautifully sung one of Uma’s classic - Kanmaniyae Kaviyamae, originally composed as a flute melody by Vijay Kannan. She was inspired to do a cover after listening to the original, Athira has put her heart and soul behind this project and has also created the video. Thank you very much Athira for your love and sincerity in doing this for us, it means a lot to us. We are sure that Uma is listening to this from wherever she is.
A little bit of background about this song, this was originally composed by Vijay Kannan, our collaborator and well wisher, as a flute based melody. The arrangement and tune was so nice that Uma wanted to sing it as a song, that is how Kanmaniyae was born. As always Vijay was generous enough to support Uma in creating the song and video, it was released on 29th of August 2015, for the 6th anniversary of Raga Surabhi!
